Linking Workforce Development, Education & Economic Development In Armstrong, Butler & Indiana Counties

PY 2021-PY 2024 Multi-Year SW PA Regional Plan and a Tri-County Local Plan Available for Public Comment

The Tri-County Workforce Development Board of Butler, Armstrong and Indiana Counties, on behalf of the Boards of County Commissioners, intends to file a PY 2021-PY 2024 Multi-Year SW PA Regional Plan and a Tri-County Local Plan for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in accordance with the Commonwealth’s guidance for plans under WIOA.  The Local Plan has been developed through consultation with the Boards of County Commissioners of Butler, Armstrong and Indiana and the Local Workforce Development Board.  The Regional Plan has been developed in consultation with stakeholders from SW PA.

The Southwest Planning Region is a nine-county workforce development planning region made up of five local workforce development areas (WDAs): Allegheny County WDA, City of Pittsburgh WDA, Southwest Corner WDA, Tri-County WDA, and Westmoreland-Fayette WDA. Four local workforce development boards (LWDB) oversee these local areas:

    Partner4Work (Allegheny County WDA and City of Pittsburgh WDA)

    Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board (SW Corner)

    Tri-County Workforce Development Board (TCWIB)

    Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Development Board (Westmoreland-Fayette)

The plans are available for review from February 12, 2021 – March 14, 2021. Any individual or entity interested in submitting comments on these plans must do so in writing.
