The Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, Inc. (TCWIB) in conjunction with the Tri-County Health Care Industry Partnership recently awarded 7 mini-grants from $150-$300 for health career awareness activities at local schools. Activities will include tours of health care facilities, job shadowing, and career fairs. From these activities, 870 students will benefit from the funds. Schools that were awarded funds include Kittanning High School, Leechburg School District, Seneca Valley School District, Mars Area High School, South Butler County School District, Apollo-Ridge High School, and the Butler County AVTS. Funds were provided by TCWIB through an AGA grant received from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor.
